BP Communications Ltd has linked up with a Cheltenham business who develop software products for security under the brand name Redhand. This now enables us to offer Event Driven Digital Surveillance (EDDS) and Access Control systems Nationwide.
The digital surveillance systems which incorporate this software can run easily of existing Local Area Networks (LANS) and because the system does not use video, the bandwidth requirements are very small and the performance of the network is not compromised. All cameras can be accessed by any networked computer or even remotely via the internet.
The systems that can be installed are ideal for Schools, Colleges and Nurseries. A brief overview of what can be achieved is given below.
VISION IP
VisionIP Overview
VisionIP provides a new approach to digital surveillance. The system is extremely easy to use and runs on a standard office PC.
Instead of using video, VisionIP takes an innovative approach using existing technology and digital network cameras to take high quality still pictures of intruders at the rate of 2 per second. This means that all movement is effectively captured, as in cinematic film. The quality of every picture is good and the system need never become overloaded, as could be the case with multiple-camera, video systems.
VisionIP saves these pictures as standard JPEG images onto a networked PC. Each camera uses conventional computer network wiring and simply plugs into a standard outlet. Because the system does not use video, the bandwidth requirements are very small and the performance of the network is not compromised. This technique is extremely cost-effective for both internal and external coverage as none of the usual, costly hardware components are used.
Cameras are only triggered when an intruder is present and coverage is absolute. Unlike other PC-based systems if there is no movement then there is NO network traffic, because the video motion detection is carried out by the camera and not the PC.
